I was there in the heat, too, but when Incubus took the stage non of that mattered-they performed with typical class-talk about "Shock and Awe"!!!! However, not to be critical, but the Virgin Festival was not in Washington, but at the Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore. Loved the totally recyclable beer cups, too!

I was undecided about whether I was going to attend this show. I really wanted to see the Smashing Pumpkins and 311 and I wondered how many more opportunities I would have to see the Police, but when I heard that Incubus was going to be part of the line up, my decision was made.

I was so stoked to see them live again, it had been nearly two years since I saw them on the ACLOTM tour and I was in hardcore Incubus withdrawal. It was over 100 degrees with no breeze at all, packed against several thousand people when Incubus took the stage. Being in the front row was kinda surreal and seeing the band so close was incredible. The set list left something to be desired, I was hoping they would play a few more older songs and stray a little bit more from their singles. I realized after the fact that at festivals most bands do not have a huge fan base in the audience, so they are more likely to play songs even non-fans would know. They definitely know how to get the crowd going, even being in front row, I could barely hear Brandon singing Drive above the crowd. That was an amazing moment I will never forget. I will also never forget hearing the entire crowd fall silent when they began to play Punch Drunk. That was an unexpected song to hear since it was never released in the U.S.

Overall the performance was incredible. The band had so much energy and Brandon was jumping around despite the blazing heat. I do think Mike was crazy to wear the button up blue long-sleeve collared shirt, it was just a lil' too hot for that.

There are some pretty cool pictures of the show posted on my profile, so feel free to check them out and make comments.

Definatly the most exciting weekend of my life. Living the high life in VIP air conditioned potties. Seeing the all amazing Incubus is always a really great time, but even more amazing was climbing up to the stage to watch The Police with Andrew Dreskin's mother as our escort, and seeing Brandon Boyd and Jose Pasilllas. Brandon asked if i wanted to stand in front of him so i could see. What a nice guy. Of course I probably had a ridiculous look of dumb foundedness and awe, and probably couldn't get the words out of my mouth to say thank you or hi or anything valid at all. But it was so great to chill out watching The Police knowing members of Incubus were standing right next to me. Also got a picture with DJ Kilmore, also a very nice guy. I wish I had had the mind capacity to stop freaking out and talk to him, maybe next time... Can't wait to go see them again on wednesday at Penn's Landing!
