Freesoarer, I didn't think Alex played on any shows for ACLOTM. Anyway, I agree that I like Ben much, much better. I always heard there was major dislike between Alex and Brandon and Alex never looked happy. Even in the Morning View DVD or any behind the scenes he always seems like he's trying so hard but is just a little off from the rest of them. I will however give him kudos for being there and helping give us all our first taste of Incubus music!

Besides, Dirk had a really really strange 'sound' that was just too rigid to change with the band. It sounded absolutely f***ing AMAZING on SCIENCE, but past that.... it just didn't work.

I was lucky enough to have seen Alex play with Incubus on the ACLOTM tour, and i enjoyed his style of
playing alot....kinda the slap bass thing. But i also noticed friction between him, and Brandon
especially, on stage. This was the lst time i had seen Incubus, and this friction was clearly noticeable
to me, so for that reason, i say it was probably a great idea for him to move on and for Ben to join up.
I would be happy to know he was in another band which he could fit into, and we who would like, could enjoy his playing again. As for Ben, i think he is a great musician and seems to fit in with the rest of the guys perfectly. I gotta feeling this is the five for the "long haul"!
It is the sauce. He just has those funk/hip-hop bass lines that match perfectly with Jose's playing style. The rhythm section gets an 11 out of 10 with Ben in the band. Whereas, Dirk's rhythm would give me a 9 out of 10.

This is just amazing and his live is 100 times better than albums but his all solo albums are fantastic, I can't describe in words anyway. kudos !

Ben Kenney is an incredible musician and I finally went to see his show,NOV 25 at House Of Blues in L.A. from my country last week.The concert was one of the best shows I've ever been and I can't wait to see his shows again in the near future.

Hopefully this will slowly change. This was actually the guy that I liked.
You see why now? He intelligent and kind. Wow.
I'm just glad I met him because we talked about some deep stuff yesterday. He wondered if moving back home would really solve anything if the problem is in my head. But I'm getting counseling at home, so I would like to think so. It can break that cycle.

I think your friend is a very intelligent person. Depression has been known to manifest itself in multiple ways including physical pain and decision making. Your state of mind when depressed will most likely effect your job performance, social interactions and general decisions. It's all a state of mind, if you don't care, which I always see you say, then you are more likely to make bad decisions based on that feeling.

So I had a wonderful discussion with my friend about my problems.... and he seems to think I am denying parts of myself while accepting others. Not listening to all the voices, because there are no good or bad voices, they all have a purpose. And he wondered why I got myself into this situation but couldn't get myself out..... I think that my mental state physically manifested itself and just compounded the problem.
But that's another thing. I have such deep rooted fears and I don't accept responsibility. Ggrrr......

He's on the up and up. It won't be the last chance so it's ok. The first song they played (Not Today) he said they screwed up all of the soundcheck that they did so their monitors weren't working. It still sounded amazing, but that's the disadvantage to seeing a band while they are still smaller.
