Song lyrics in everyday life....
Does anybody immediately sing or think of certain Incubus lyrics when something happens in everyday life.
The one that come to mind mostly is when wind blows against my face/body and I immediately think of "Wish You Were Here" - "I lean aginst the wind, pretend that I am weightless." of course this song would work perfectly at the beach, which we have plenty in Charleston, SC, well all of Morning View would work perfectly at the beach.
Joseph.

"i will hold you close if you're afraid of heights"
i was reading the scarlet letter for english today and i found a line that said "you speak in riddles..." and it made me smile
i couldn't help but wonder if that's where brandon got that line since he is an avid reader of it were purely coincidence.
agreed, i spent a week on a beach, and that song was on constant loop on my ipod.

My answer to your opening question is.....HELL YEAH! Their music is a huge part of my life not only just for their mastery in musical composition and lyrical prose but because it's SO relatable. Anyone who pauses long enough to truly listen quickly discovers this........
Once a so called friend of mine did a particularly nasty thing to me and what came to mind instantly...........
Hey! What would it mean to you
to know that it'll come back around again?
Hey! Whatever it means to you,
know that everything moves in circles.
Every time my husband and I argue........
"You and I are like oil & water
and we've been trying, trying, trying, ohhhh to mix it up
OR
The sound of your sorrow comes.
I'm tired of the way that it feels
I only apologize to you to make you feel better
When I brood over the difficulty I'm encountering in finding a job.....after my years of education and training and also despite the fact that I am licensed...........
I take a look around; it's evident the scene has changed
And there are times when I feel improved upon the past.
Then there are times when I can't seem to understand at all
and yes it seems as though I'm going nowhere.....
really f***ing fast.
There are many other instances when their songs come to mind, fit perfectly in a particular situation, become the medium through which my thoughts and feelings find understanding, find a home.
Oh and while at the beach.......it's impossible not to have Wish You Were Here loop endlessly in my head.

And for blood on the ground, if somebody is ticking me off I just say "i don't want to talk to you anymore because i am afraid of what i might say, i bite my tongue everytime you come around" and my sister will join in singing it.
all kinds though..i'll think of more eventually.!

huh? what do you mean Joseph?

I love Leech. It easily is one of my top 5 favorite songs. I always comfort myself in it when I'm two seconds from breaking up with my boyfriend. I love it when I'm angry at him and I always think "I'm kicking myself that I shared spit with you...so f*** yourself and f*** this bleeding heart of mine."

I do that all the time too. Every morning when I give my son his vitamin, I start singing "you stare at me like I'm a vitamin". Then pretty much all day, it'll be one thing or another, I don't usually sing songs out loud at work but I do start humming songs under my breath. When I disagree with my boss, I'm humming "Megalomanic", when I get home from driving around I sing Leech because I love to sing "the rides over",

'cuz wihout love I won't survive
I do this all the time. I get made fun of my non-Incubus loving friends, though. Haters -_-
Everytime I have an argument with a male I think of Leech "yes men, too, can be on the rag."

test....? this popped up twice and above yours alyssa?
Sometimes I feel like the song "Agoraphobia" - "I wanna stay inside... I wanna stay inside for good."
Joseph.
................But only sometimes. HaHa.
Oh, and I found out I need to go into the General Incubus topics to pick the right forum and not "Off topic"
Yes, I do all the time. I have Incubus songs in my head a lot. Partly because I am always listening to them.
Like this doesn't quite fit but if somebody is talking about something I don't want to hear I will say..."it would be so much more endearing with the sound turned off" they don't understand it but it makes them shut up!!
And when somebody is in my way or something, I say pardon me and then start singing the song.
And when their is a green crayon or marker or pen or anything green or when somebody is like "any shade of green" i start singing Certain Shade of Green.
