I'm a fan (and you should be too).
#1. Like any human being, I have been through some personal obstacles in life that have been fun, weird, painful, and ridiculous. One band that I can have in my cd player, whatever my mood my be, is Incubus. The music never seems to get old with me, why? Because the band has provided a unique quality in every CD they released that I enjoy. Although, when they first came out with "Make Yourself", that CD alone fit in with any and every mood I was in at the time. Regardless, this is the one band that I can listen to over and over again.
#2. I always find new things that I like about a song, piece of lyric, or melody. They hit the right notes that enhance the feeling of the lyrics that are provided.
#3. It is very extraordinary when a band can evolve with time and still satisfy an ear. I've never been let down with each CD. I anticipate new songs and cherish the CDs that I own.
#4. I'm an artist. I am a Graphic Designer and many people argue that graphic design isn't "real" art. I feel like people can feel however they want, either way, I enjoy working with charcoal, colored pencil, and just your average pencil. If I need that creative energy to start flowing I just put in any Incubus CD, whether its "Fungus Amongus" or "Light Grenades", it helps the creativity flow.
Just a few reasons why I appreciate this band and all it's glory.
I warmed up to it
The CD is different, like every CD they've come out with. They have their style but evolve within themselves. "Light Grenades" is mature and heartfelt and I enjoy it greatly. You still inspire.
