I live and breathe for music. It's the soul reason I cling onto life with such passion. Without it, I would be a bumbling nothing without a real form of truly expressing myself. I believe that art, poetry and music are the only key to releasing emotion - without these, how could we ever know what love is?
I thoroughly enjoy the music that Incubus make as a collective. Their combination of an eclectic/experimental sound is the soul reason why I stay sane. I want to show my appreciation for each of them, because all 5 musicians provide their own, unique input in such a sophisticated way; this makes the band who they are today, and the success they are today...
Brandon is best at what he does, his vocal range is stunning, his stage presence is so modest, yet powerful...
Chris is a talented DJ, and he knows exactly what sound to create to fit with such a smooth style; and he's cool, even if his obsession with Star Wars memorabilia is a little disturbing!
Mike, I appreciate so much; a guitarist of this stature should be respected; it's actually unreal how he can create such a variety of material. I can't comprehend it!
Jose; what a drummer?! I admire how he combines a hip-hop style with an alternative twist. It's definately hard to compliment one style of music with another, but he works it so well!
Ben; you definately bring the funk dude! I seriously have to show some much due respect for the basslines he creates; they make a huge impression on me, as I'm sure they do with others.
Incubus are a huge inspiration to me, as they have touched upon every emotion that most people in the whole world have experienced. Again, I know that I've stressed that music is my life, but what's really significant is that Incubus have contributed meaning to it; and anyone that hasn't learnt to value them, in my opinion, should!
Can't think of what else to write... but in short.... I'm a fan because Incubus are spiritually, mentally and physically therapeutic!
:(
I really wanted to go to this, damn living in England and having study commitments! Hope you guys that do go, really enjoy the exhibit!
