Close Encounters and Great Moments of Fortune

Hey fans...Well, i've been on the forums about 10 months now and in a couple posts i have
mentioned that i've met Brandon. That's about all the info i'd give, and no one ever ask any
questions, so didn't want people to be all hating on me will their jealousy and envy, so I have kept it silent. This is especially written for the interest shown by gals on my current
post,"Countdown to Mr. Musichead".

Squirrelbrane, Naz, Born1day... I have indeed met the one and only Brandon Charles Boyd!
My interest in Incubus didn't begin until Lollapalooza in 2003. I was living in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas, retreating from the big city, and went to the festival over 200 miles
away in St. Louis, MO. I left from the 1st row, right side, with a new favorite band. I began
to learn as much as possible about the band and especially BB. I soaked up eagerly every
thing i could learn. Having lived in CA before, I had already made plans to move back and
now not only had a Big Dream to meet BB, but it became a goal.......and i met it!!!!!!

In the summer of 2006 KROQ begin to play more Incubus and soon it was out that a new
album was on its way and in November i bought tickets to both nights at the Wiltern Theatre. Theres always cool people at Incubus concerts and i learned alot of stuff from
friends that i made waiting in line.

Now Brandons birthday was 2 days after the 2nd show and so I had put together a present,
and wrapped it in a real cool bandana and was just hoping and dreaming i could pull this
off. A couple of chicks were by us in line and had arrived earlier and caught Mike to get a
photo and they told me where to stand to possibly be able to see the guys upon leaving the
venue after the show. Well, the Wiltern was once and elaborate movie theatre, and was a
very initimate setting for concerts now. I have an incubus loving son, and he was with me,
and we had great seats. It was a major night! After the concert ended, we went to stand
around the exit. Well, there were the females that had told us where to go and alot of other
fans.....i'd guestimate no less than 50. It was collllllllddddddddd in February and we stood
talking as i clutched the present. At about 12:05 am, Brandon appears to get into the limo
to leave and everyone started yelling "hey Brandon" and the like. After the voices died down, I don't know where it came from, but I said "Happy Birthday Brandon", and to my
surprise.......he replied thank you. Then mouth in operation before thinking, I replied back,
Can i give you this present? Now, there was security keeping us fans from getting closer
then at a barracade, about 25 feet from where Brandon had squatted down by his limo to
fix some things in a bag. (Of course every one was rabid - HA!) So Brandon the replied
"sure, bring it on down!" OMG i went running down to him where he was still squatted and
what came out of my mouth next?? Well, again just totally trippin and not prepared "I love
you Brandon", to which he replied as i offered the present "Thanks". Well i ran back up into
the crowd and all the girls were asking me what i said, he said, what was my present, etc.
Oh (screeeeeeaaaaaaammmmm!) Mission accomplished!!!!!!! Then after he got into the limo, it backed up right where all the super fans were and he gave a few autographs. So
being overwhelmed and embarrassed, i ask my son to go get an autograph. Brandon does
oblige and as my son ran back he started staring right at me. What was he thinking.........
it was cool this lock of eyes, but i couldn't handle anymore and said "see you tommorow
night Brandon" and me and my son started leaving to go to the subway. Well, Brandons
car starts coming and the walk sign just came on and his limo stops although i gave it clear
to go. So we ran across and my son started screaming and running after his car. When I
got to the subway stop i sat my purse on the bench and then left it accidentally to never see it or my contents again i was so caught up in the moment of good fortune.

to be continued..........................

Hey Freesoarer...OMG, I was out of town for a few days and it seems that I missed so much here. I feel like I am reading a novel that I can't put down; you are some fascinating writer. What an amazing experience you had with the man himself. It is like your emotions took over and led you to do exactly the right thing. Timing is really everything and you had it all! Anyway, that is so creative as to give him the present of your talents; I'm so sure that he did appreciate it because he is a writer himself, right? Imagine if he uses some of your material for a song or quotes something that you wrote? I'm sure that he will give you the credit especially where the credit is due. I also think that it is great that you do the astrological and numerology charts for people. I really believe in that cause one of my aunts reads those charts and told me that 2004 would be a year of upheavals for me with eclipses and all..she was so right! I'm still trying to recover, really! Anyway, I thought it was "so sweet" that your son got the actual autograph for you; thank God he was there too for that totally memorable experience too! I know that we all have lives, but please do try to continue your story sooner than later or should I say your stories? Thanks ever so much Freesoarer!

okay
is it later yet ? =)
don't leave us hanging to
long.
BTW I think you had
a defined connection
when you told him
Happy-bday

I am tickled pink that you guys showed such interest in my 1st encounter. Yes, Naz, i am a writer, and
one of the things i gave Brandon in that birthday present, was a notebook full of my letters to him, poetry and lyrics. It's my "talent" I guess. I also gave him info on his astrological and numerology
charts that i also love to do. Then i gave him just a few small gifts.....actually, none of them come to my memory right now, ( i get so excited reliving this)! And yes, i will hopefully soon tell you about the 2nd night. Yeah, things are heating up! NO, not that much!! LOL!

Girl you are beyond an inspiration. I loved this story and can't wait for the next installment!

and
2)what is the to be continued?
OMG
3) TO BE CONTINUED?
4) WHAT happened the 2nd night?

If I were you I would have died after saying I love you to him, lol. That is a pretty amazing story, and like Naz, I don't remember ever reading that you met him or you would've been hounded by many of us for more details.

What a sweet guy, he is huh? You sure did have a stroke of good fortune, freesoarer!
I did not realize or remember you commenting that you met Brandon, sorry, but believe me, I would have asked you about the details, just like on your Mr.Musichead thread!
Good luck again with your BB endeavors and do share with us all the time!!!!!
