Human slalom is the best. You go on the beginner slopes and use the noobs sitting on their a*ses in the snow as slalom gates. You do know what a slalom gate is, right? We, meaning the snowboard instructors at the mountain I taught at, used to do it all the time, kinda like a competition. The noobs get so freaked out when they see you heading for them, lol, like we lack control or something. Hello......... they don't let you teach if you can't ride.

technicolor:

No, what is the human slalom?! I'm actually introducing 3 of my friends to the sport this weekend, so i'm going to learn how to butter while they fall. We've all been there though, its ok to laugh!

It's the worst when you pull up to the mountain and you can see hints of yellow everywhere. You know its gonna be an icey day... Powder is heaven though! I like kicking up snow on people that fell Laughing out loud

rainbowswirl:

Hey Andrew, I feel your pain about ice hills. That's mostly all we have here as well. Especially at the Mountain I used to teach at. The slopes there seriously have the consistency of an ice rink. It's so bad that when there is "real" snow, I fall down and hurt myself. I only know how to ride on ice, lol. I'm a pro at that.

On another note, I too love to watch noobs ride. It is hysterical when they can't stop and you see the panic in their eyes. Have you ever played human slalom?

VERY rocky. I've only gone twice. May be going this winter again though granted my mother expects people to trust her, but she won't trust them back. If she breaks, I may be going snowboarding!!!!

Cross your fingers people.

I love to watch people that don't know how to stop yet. They normally just fall over haha. I've been there once! Snowboarding is something you have to do 3 times and then it's a way of life. Getting through those first 3 times can be rocky however, if I recall.

Some-Kind-Of-Freak:

Snowboarding and surfing are very similar though.

It takes a lot of balance. And you don't really get good at it until you let go. I was so tense when I first snowboarded it was horrible, but the second time I really let go and it was great!

I got scared when I got going to fast and would nose dive because I freaked out and thought I was going to die. But that rush is totally fun now! If only I had money for a board I would be on my slope I am looking at right now all the time. Smiling

You totally should if you ever get the chance. It's the most boundless activity. I'll teach ya!

Some-Kind-Of-Freak:

Same here I've got mountains, a rain forest, a beach, the f***ing ocean, a foreign country, and friends all within an hour of my house.

Seattle within two.

I like PA. Smiling

I can't really complain about Delaware. I live in Claymont which is the most northern town in the state. The town itself sucks but I'm 2 hours from everything, the city, the beach, I mean I can literally have any whim or desire and find a place to fulfill it within 2 hours.

rainbowswirl:

I've never been to Ohio, so I can't say anything about it. I also wouldn't mind living somewhere cool like Colorado. I could snowboard all the time on real mountains, not the crap little hills with the consistency of an ice rink we have here in PA.

PA does kinda blow. Next door is NOT any better though. I want to move to Colorado. Or, I wouldn't complain about the Bahamas

lorilaz:

I know this is off the topic but I'm really surprised how many people are from Pennsylvania (or it just seems like that). Living in Delaware and it being so small you wonder if anyone is near you!!! LOL!

Really? good
after the song Mikey says something like they never would have imagined that this band would take them all on this journey of life and around the world. Then something like they don't know where the journey will take them and they never want it to stop.

Sorry, but too lazy to get up and listen to the dvd, lol

did you listen to it Rainbow?

--
"I marvel at the stars
and feel my heart overflow"

rainbowswirl:

That was very helpful Naz. Here is the quote

"In the world of the dreamer there is solitude: all the exaltations and joys came in a moment of preparation for living. They took place in solitude. But with action came anxiety and the sense of insuperable effort made match the dream, and with that came weariness, discouragement and the flight into solitude again. And then in solitude, in the opium den of remembrance, the possibility of pleasure again."

hi roadrunner, welcome.
the quote is by Anais Nin
I don't have it written down, I'd have to listen to the dvd
