....remember the first time i heard the song pardon me. I played that song over and over and over again. Then I started to learn about Incubus, and listening to other songs. What I learned when listening to this band, that I have never experienced with any other band, and I owe it to their unique sound, is emotional attachment.
When I first listened to the acoustic version of Pardon Me, I was truly hooked. I became a huge fan, because every time I listened to a song, it affected me emotionally. As more albums were produced and more songs uniqued, more songs affected me, in different ways. If i wanted to rock out, I had copious amounts of songs to help me out with the rock out session, and if i wanted to mellow out, there were songs that I could listen to over and over again to put me in a state of pure relaxation. They are the only band I have ever listened to where I could listen to any song multiple times, and not get bored of it.
As I learned more about Incubus and their ideaologies, I became more and more fascinated with the band. It seemed to me they were a cool, down to earth band, with a consistency for originality. Their spirituality, and connection to ideas I never knew of led me to explore my self. I learned more about buddhism, inner peace and love for family and friends, that I may have never had learned if not for Incubus.
This band continues to make its own path, with new followings as they continue on their journey. With the mutual respect from fan to fan, the love and energy felt at their concerts, and the gratitude they give back to their fans, these are all the reasons why I am a huge fan of Incubus and these are the reasons why they are my favourite band.
Cheers
