The same thing happens with "Waiting Room" by Fugazi. The only ones I saw who did a decent job was Billy Talent, hate them all you want, but they brought something new to to the song while still keeping it generally the same.

MCR's cover of Jack The Ripper is ridiculously terrible. Mind you, it was years ago but still. It's just screaming and totally horrific. Their Astro Zombies cover was kinda fun, not the worst but nothing very impressive either. They are nooooo Misfits, that for sure.

I think I might puke from the general horrid-ness of this thread.... its quite depressing.

I looked up youtube vids of MCR covers a while ago, and was forced to negatively comment on every vid I saw.

I like the Imagine cover by A Perfect Circle. They turned a peace song into something about the AntiChrist.

Most bands that have done Black Sabbath covers have been pretty weak. Same with the Ramones. It seems like artists always attempt songs that they know nothing about.
