This was my first Incubus concert. I became a big fan through my husband, and this was the first time we'd had the opportunity to watch them. The funny part is we got into a huge argument right before going to the concert and he, in a not so smart move, decided that he was not going. Why he decided that, I don't know because seriously he could have enjoyed the concert and pretended he wasn't with me and I would not have minded because I was watching INCUBUS. Needless to say, he felt pretty stupid about that later... Anyways I, however, decided that F*ck it, I'm going to see Incubus! So even by myself, I drove all the way out to northerly Island from the 'burbs determined to have a good time. It kinda sucked going to a concert by myself, but I really enjoyed the concert anyways and they played all the songs I wanted to hear. I loved it and I hope I get to see them again. Maybe with my hubby, if he's lucky. lol.
Sitting down to reflect on my experience of July 25 2007- 6 months or so after the show, I am still overcome with overwhelming positve energy/emotions. Incubus has been one of my favorite bands for years...well at least since the fungus has been among us....I love everything they do. I think they could perform two hours of nursery rhymes and I would be in a complete trance. Light Grendades was no exception in fact I really feel this album has brought them to another level. s***, they have ALWAYS been on the level-but....the ease with which they access and channel Universal energy is so exceptional that I think that if they let me study their nervous systems/consciousness, humanity may have a chance of not drowning in our own s***...but we need to work fast! The lastest album is one that you ought to listen to from start to finish-the flow is amazing! and so the excitement I felt at getting a chance to see them perform their new album was intense to say the least.
I am in my second year of graduate school so time for concerts is few and far between, but for Incubus I would drop out because seeing them means that much to me. f*** that stupid piece of paper that will say im a "doctor". its meaningless. they killed a tree for it no less!!!
Being a female who is roughly 5 feet 4 inches tall, I always plan to attend concerts with alpha males who can somewhat clear a view for me-and because of this foresight I ended up experiencing the concert from about the 3/4 row back on the floor, directly in front of where Mike was f***ing the s*** out of his guitar. (So Hot!) The overflowing gratitude I feel for having this opportunity is still just as strong, if not stronger today than it was in the here-and-now of that night at Northerly Island.
From the moment I heard the first sound of "Quicksand", I immediately went into an altered state of consciousness, which some explorers of the mind have called "flow." From that point on, I was absorbed in a group consciousness that felt amazing. If I had to compare it to something that language could contain, I would say that it was like having the best, most intense ORGASM you have ever, or will ever have-- continuously--- for 2 hours. The energy that was both recieved and expended in what seemed like both forever and one moment- is as yet a largely unexplained phenomena.
we have much to learn from the vibrational, photonic, and existential exchange that I know intuitively took place.
I left Northerly Island feeling literally healed. My very Being filled with renewed life and positive energy.
This was my first Incubus concert, and my first concert in general. I have to say it's an experience I'll never forget! I loved everything about it. The light show Brandon did was fantastic as well. I noticed that Sony added the live video from that concert to their site. Cheers, you guys rock!
First time seeing incubus in concert! They were fantastic! It was amazing hearing/seeing them perform "Aqueous trasmission" live and I LOVED "Stand by Me" cover. ^__^
