A long story

I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...

There are many different reasons why I enjoy music by incubus, just like every other fan out there I suppose. I know I remember the first song I've ever heard (by incubus) was glass. I loved it. Of course I was in eighth grade back then and oh many years younger. Now days I'm in college living a bland life I suppose but trying to enjoy myself. A constant that has stuck around with few artists other than incubus is the need to change and sound different from album to album.
I had a strange dream last night that actually kind of woke me. I remember hearing from a certain person that "That's like comparing the sheep to the shepherd" and it woke me up. I just remember trying to compare albums trying to distinguish which one I liked the most. Personally I suppose it doesn't matter, that is because I like them all. However, that is now stuck in my head.
Listening to a group that can change is one of the single most things that I feel I need. Sure I'd love to be in a band and I would certainly try to make music that I feel people would love to listen to such as many great artists. But what I feel makes this band so compelling to me is the changing tones. In my mind only two bands do this currently and those two happen to be my favorite bands, that doesn't mean I don't listen to other music so don't get me wrong. The great thing about the two bands to me is that you can't compare them. I certainly love Tool, but I definitely get a different feel and attitude towards incubus.
So I suppose that does sum it up only two bands(currently) change and grow, and continually try to evolve them self into something better. Well sure I suppose some underground bands do such things but I'm talking a little more mainstream. The last band that I can think of right now that sounds good and changes what they sound like from album to album is honestly The Beatles. However, the two bands that I listen to the most aren't anything like them. But I do feel as if they are house hold names, at least to my generation.
