Really had a good time that night. Still feel like soo lucky to hear Are You In?, Nowhere Fast, The Warmth, Nice to Know You, Oil and Water AND Dig! Shame about Pardon Me, Wish You Were Here and Stellar but I think I'll survive But Seriously twas awesome! Visit soon!!
It annoys me when people complain about not having their favourite songs played. Incubus have had A LOT of really good songs, there's no way they could play everyone's favourite. Jesus. Give them a break.
I'm a huge fan, have been for god knows how many years and have suprised many people by not 'growing-up' out of this kind of music. I went to the gig in 2004 at the same venue (an earlier birthday present) the seats sucked but it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. This time around there were a few complecations! I currently live in Spain so the cancellation ment forking out an extra hundred euros to change my flight! Luckily our seats were much better this time (I could actually see the band this time!) however as good as the gig was, I just couldn't help but think when they were touring for the 'Crow Left of A Murder' album, they really mixed stuff up, i.e. Drive, the impressive drum bit in Vitamin and Brandon's short solo for the encore!
The gig was amazing! I was right at the front right in the middle & therefore right in front of Brandon Boyd! Could have done with some more old songs but it must be difficult to choose what to put on the set list with such a huge range of songs. The encore was a huge suprprise too. But overall a great gig! & I must say thankyou to the random guy who saved me from being completely crushed! Thanks whoever you were! x
So.. Someone down this list spent £50 on travel expenses hey.. I spent £300 NOT including a further £200 odd on clothes shopping and food!! I live in the Channel Islands by the way..
I was booked up to go in April with friends, then Incubus cancelled (I cried) so I lost the money on my flight, had to re-book everything but my friends couldnt afford to go so I had to go to scary Manchester on my own! (never been before, how proud are you all of me haha!). It was great fun though and well worth it.
Feels like a dream now though its over so I may just spend more money I dont have to attend another UK gig!! When they came on stage I thought I was going to have a heart attack, they were great live. Best band ever. Actually thought Puggy were pretty good too.
Anyway, if any of you saw a random excited loner wandering about it was me!
PS. I slept with Brandon that night I have photo evidence which I will upload at some point.. Ok, so I slept with his poster. Close enough!
My first ever gig so i have nothing to compare to but it was amazin, even though i was sat down i still rocked out all the songs played were great a good mix from all albums but i did miss stellar and diamonds and coal
And i don't care what anyone else says, the were bloody brilliant. There was a good variety of songs, they didn't play Stellar tho or pardon me, but i love love hurts and quicksand was a great intro. Brandon has great stage energy, that was my first Incubus concert and certainly will not be my last! i'm already looking into how to get to london for the brixton academy one. i spend 50 pounds of travel expenses to get to this gig and every penny was worth it!! And brandon looked so hot.
Let me tell you top gig last night - I only own 3 Inc cds at the mo - Morning - Crow -Light - and although I've new "drive" can some else who was at the gig tell me what the songs in the encore were plz -
Brandons vox rocked - no "talk show " bit miffed - but great gig - I'm going Monday to the NEC now - l8rz
I thought it was beautiful, just the whole atmostphere and the preformance of the band, so worth the wait! Sung my heart out and Brandon looked lovely as ever in that vest :J
hope y'all had fun!
incubus have been my fav band since science came out,saw them at leeds fest a couple of years ago but this was my first incubus gig.
gonna follow them forever, they cover every genre of music and are the most inspirational band of all time.
the gig was phenominal even tho they didnt play wish you were here or pardon me (enjoyed it so much i completely forgot about them songs).
they promoted the new album brilliantly, well done guys.
can't stop thinking about the gig 2day at work, ending with aqueous transmission was so emotional and the individual exits were original along with brandon's spotlight show and the jams in between tracks. some instrumentals were similar to the performance at red rocks in 2004. (if you dont own the red rocks dvd you're an idiot, its the best live performance of any artist in the history of music)
had the best time of my life at the gig last night, hope their creativity and originality never comes to an end.
The show was amazing. Not sure about the support band, but the crowd was polite and let them do their thing, then we all sat around reading people's text messages on the screen ("I'm the guy with the airhorn", etc) while we waiting for Incubus.
I bought my tickets in about December, but it was well worth the wait. High energy, great performances from everyone.
I completely love Ben Kenney. I was a little dissapointed that they didn't play Drive the Red Rocks way with his bass at the forefront, but still, amazing rendition, as always. Mikey and Jose hold the keys to my heart, and they were ON. POINT tonight, as always, I'd imagine. Couldn't see much of Chris Kilmore at all but he was well heard, and Brandon (dorky dancing and skanky vest aside) still has the best live vocals I've ever heard.
The connection between all the guys just screams out at you. I'd have paid twice as much for the show if they'd been asking for it. AMAZING. I won't forget it.
good selection of songs, BUT NO CERTAIN SHADE OF GREEN!! dissapointing
stil amazing to see them live. woulda liked a bigger bongo solo from brandon too, but thats just me being picky. last concert i saw he went on for about 10 minutes
Hehe! Can't wait till incubus at manchester MEN! its going to be a top(aka well good)=) night! hope incubus plays some of their classic tracks it would be well good if they played "Summer Romance (Anti-Gravity Love Song)" plzzzzz play that! anyway can't wait
It's really strange; I was getting my dad the tickets last year! + then they cancelled and know they're on, on his birthday!
we are both excited
hope you all enjoy it, I'm sure they wont dissapoint us
if any of you know roughly what they'll be playing, that'd be good to know as well!
Im'a goin to that there gig me!! canny wait i tells ya!
