How Incubus are you?
What have you changed about yourself as a direct result of being an Incubus fan?
I'm a vegetarian. I never ate much meat to begin with and often felt bad for doing so. My family and my husband have always been big meat eaters so it was there. Now I have the strength to stand up to their ways and make a change for myself. (you know what I mean if you try to go veggie on a meat lover)
I recycle and conserve energy and water. I always thought about it but didn't do it. My family didn't live in this manner so it wasn't something I learned.
Who else has found the courage and strength to make a change from the lyrics of an Incubus song?

I love forcing people who hate Incubus to listen to them in my car. It is such a great feeling.

I saw him at warped tour and he was playing for The Transplants.

One simple word ... OBSESSED
!!!

to think that one's actions could please the masses is indeed a notion bound in irony;
someone will inevitably find something wrong in almost everything.
so do what it is that you do best and remember to have enough tolerance for two.
That would be great!
I never got the chance to see them before they broke up because I live out in the middle of nowhere, so this would be a great opportunity.

The rumor I heard on a local radio station is that Blink will be touring this coming summer. I can't say how true it is.
--
"For every one thing we're ignorant of

you serious?
thats crazy! i was always a sucker for mark hoppus, so that would inevitably make me pretty happy.

Well apparently Delonge learned his lesson and got Blink back together, or so rumor has it.

I just liked A couple of their songs, never was a fan or anything, well ive never been a fan of anything, I just like music.
--
"...Im Counting UFO´s..."
true that
damnit was the first song I ever heard, but I was in second grade, and when I saw the album art I remember being totally grossed out.
i was a huge fan in seventh grade.
their music was hilarious and serious at the same time, it was a good combo, until gaywad delonge decided he was too good to be in a band that attracted underage groupies.
but it was good while it lasted.

Well, I'm not that big of a fan. I don't know all of their songs, I mostly know their self-titled and Dude Ranch (which is a kick a*s album).

"For every one thing we're ignorant of

NOT lame!
i would be right there in the crowd singing every word to every line of every song.
it would be a dream come true if they got together for one night and played every song they've ever released.
reckless abandon was my favorite song, i might pass out at hearing it live.
:]

I hope they really do get back together and tour. I know it sounds lame, but I would love to see them.

ohhhh how I adored blink 182 back in the day!
actually I always loved them, even when their sound totally changed in one album hahaha
but i'm not a huge fan of angels and airwaves.
im stubborn, perhaps?

That song reminds my of high school. Mostly b/c that was when it was released and b/c my friends and I were obsessed with it.

Good job!! I thought it would take a little longer for someone to figure that out. It is a pretty old song.

Blink 182???

"...Im Counting UFO´s..."
I think a lot of people have had similar experiences Appleboy. There are a bunch of people that I hung out with in school who I have since stopped speaking to b/c I disagree with the way that they choose to live their lives. At some point you need to get rid of people in order to remain true to yourself. "Well I guess this is growing up". Let's see if anyone can figure out where that live came from.... one hint, it's not Incubus.

I dont know if incubus changed me in such a way as most of you did, But it certanly affirmed who I was. I always was sort of a weird dude, Since I was 10, Most people thought of me as diferent because of my belives and my way of life. Mostly I was a pro-beyourself kind of guy, in a fake-people school, so yeah i was kind of diferent. I was always true to myself and what I belived and most people didnt liked what I said, or did. It wasnt that I was doing bad things but mostly was that had arguments with alot of people. After a while I started to shut up and just live my life, kept on going to the same school and highschool with the same people, but had just one or two friends and when I was in tenth grade (here grades are diferent) I started having more girl friends, mostly because they matured and stuff, but it was still dificult being friends with them.
Because of who I was I lost a couple of friends in huge arguments of "who you were and what were you doing in your life". And After a While I just thought that I was sort of alone here, and thats when I started listening to "pardon me", and I felt happy about somebod was thinking of what I thought, In such a great word-play. When I bought the make yourself album I thought I was understood, and I started talking again.
Today my firends, most of the people are from that same school and highschool, tell me that they cant belive that Im still true to myself and aprecieate that I was always like that and in a way helped them to become who they are today, most of them feel proud of who they are and what they have become, and some people tank me about it.
So what Incubus gave me was security in who I was and what was I doing with my life.
Make yourself
If I hadn't made me, I would've been made somehow..
If I hadn't assembled myself, Id've fallen apart by now.
If I hadn't made me, I'd be more inclined to bow.
Powers that be, Would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow.
But...
If you let them make you, they'll make you Paper-Mache
At a distance you're strong, until the wind comes
Then you'll crumble and blow away.
If you let him f*** you there will be no foreplay.
Rest assured, They'll screw you complete, Until your ass is blue and grey!
You should make amends with you,
If only for better health.
But if you really want to live,
Why not try, and Make yourself?
Make yourself (Make yourself)
If I hadn't made me, I'd have fallen apart by now.
I won't let them make me..It's more than I can allow.
So when I make me, I won't be paper-Mache..
And if I f*** me...I'll f*** me in my own way.
f*** me in my own way
f*** me in my own way
f*** me in my own way
f*** me in my own way...
You should make amends with you,
If only for better health (Better health)
But if you really want to live,
Why not try, and Make yourself?
Make yourself
Make yourself
Make yourself
Make yourself!
Thank you incubus.

I love taking chances.
I have always been impulsive, but now, when I listen to Incubus, I feel almost like I can do anything, like anything is possible, and nothing can stop me from doing something I love.

I'm much more happier. I know it sounds alittle bit strange but always when I listen to Incubus I just feel great and everything seems to be better.
I'm also more easy-going and I just enjoy life more than I did before.
I feel more tolerant and open-minded and just better.
It's an amazing feeling!
It's like there's more love in me than there was before I was so damn lost in Incubus.

Oh man, f**k that! What's normal? MAKE YOUR OWN NORMAL!!!!
incubus is the only band which inspired me to play and make music myself
which is the best thing they gave to me
always favorite band, yeah!!!
love you guys <3
Incubus has been my muse. They have taught me not to forget that a life without art is an empty one, whether it's expressed with a pen, on a canvas or the strings of a guitar. Our lives are more colorful and rich, layered with emotions, whether they are good or bad; expression through art facilitates our daily dealings with this existence we call life.
I think that if you believe no one can change you.
If you believe you can
i've learned how to look at things from a more positive point of view. i think that's basically what incubus songs have taught me, and i am thankful. their songs (well most of them anyway) are pretty optimistic (if that's what you wanna call it haha). those lyrics, they have made an impact in my life, in one way or another.
because of MYF (partially), i'm also more concerned with the sucky-ass reality the earth is facing now (i.e. global warming, proverty). i'm trying my best to help by recycling & segregating and telling my family and friends to f***ing recycle (though they can be so damn stubborn at times). i'm also donating some of my stuff to some charities.
woohoo for incubus.

so tonight we drink to youth.
I wrote about what they did for me
in my "why are you a fan?" deal.
In reference to becoming aware,
they've made me less egotistical
and have opened my eyes to the
world, the beauty, around me.
I'm also going back to being a
vegetarian. But I do know that
Brandon will eat meat once in
a while, so I don't hate myself
much when I do too. And I still
eat my eggs and drink milk
and what not. What is it called
when you don't eat that either?
Vegan, right? Anyways, yeah.
They've just made me an all
around better person.
-♥- Kira
So glad he just doesn't eat vegeables.
