Work of "art"?

I am not going to follow the trend of all other Incubus fans on this site. I'm not going to say the album "totally rocked" because I love the band (which I do; their music has gotten me through a lot of hard times). With that said, I can say now that "Light Grenades" isn't my favorite Incubus album. "Dig" and "A Kiss to Send Us Off" are my favorites on the album. I just wish that the album itself wasn't so... (I hate to say this, by the way)... 13-year-old girl style. I guess I am more prone to "S.C.I.E.N.C.E." which is by far the best Incubus album, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the work that Incubus puts into making their albums but I wish they would go back to their funky-styley roots. Remember "Enjoy Incubus"? Remember "Fungus Amongus"? Remember "S.C.I.E.N.C.E."? Those were the good ol' days and I realize that times are a changin' but what about "A Crow Left of the Murder"? That album kicked ass! It blended the OLD with the NEW in the most awesome of ways. "Light Grenades" is just too 'poppy sensation' for my tastes. Then again, maybe I've just grown up a touch. Although, the lyrics in the songs on "Light Grenades" are amazing--it's the music that gets me. I can't rock out to it! Sure... I can sing to it but I want to be front row center, in the action, ROCKING MY FACE OFF and I just can't do that to this album. I shall stick to the older stuff and hopefully their next album will tickle me pink. AND Granted, if I ever get the chance to go to an Incubus concert (since I missed my chance to go to Red Rocks, Colorado in July of 2004;) I WILL be there: front row center, in the action, ROCKING MY FACE OFF! And that is the God's honest truth.

Incubus: I still love you, do what you guys do best... I'll still be listening, don't worry about that.

With Love,
Jessica

P.S. The Red Rocks DVD RULES! I seriously wish I could've been there.
