So I got bored today and started playing with the iTunes store and looking at Incubus albums. If you look at the review for Morning View (the $12.87 one not the $9.99 one, although I can't find any difference except the price) you will understand my outrage. Here is the review.
"A sensitive nu-metal frontman with innocuous sleeve tattoos and a feminine side that far outweighs his masculine - sounds like an oxymoron right? And it is, especially when the dude's band carries a double meaning of nightmares and ... demons that seduce unconscious women. Ah, but Incubus vocalist Brandon Boyd is an emo-tastic momma's boy, a guy who's endearing and genuine rather than precious and gag inducing. It helps that he can carry a tune, whether it's a standard issue rage-against-the-guitars jam ("Under My Umbrella," "Blood on the Ground," the hit kiss-off single "Nice to Know You") or a power ballad laced with battery acid ("Warning," "Wish You Were Here"). Like the Deftones, Incubus also disproves just about every nu-metal cliche out there. So much so that the narrow-minded name doesn't really apply to their music anymore. Their DJ (Chris Kilmore) threads textures and atmospheric tones together rather than flaccid and forced scratches to a promising, complete U-turn like the fully-formed orchestral psychedelia of "Aqueous Transmission." Cry on, Brandon Boyd. Our shoulder's here for you."
It appears that this review is full of back-handed compliments. Whoever wrote this needs to be slapped. If they knew anything about music they would know that Emo is actually a classification that describes vocalists who sing at the top of their vocal range, usually producing a nasal sound. Brandon does not do that, and I don't remember much crying on this album. He was still writing pissed off songs about Dirk.

That was great trash-bashing, Mistress Boyd. Hurrah from all of us fans! You should definitely submit that at I Tunes...(shame on them for letting that "review" be posted in the first place!)

Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get.
We should definitely post Mistress' review on the iTunes comments section. That'll show them what us Incubus fans are made of.
I really love the part about the reviewer wanting BB's c*ck in him mouth. That was sweet.

Lets flood the "Customer Reviews" box with complaints... subtle, but effective.

"I haven't felt the way I feel today in so long it's hard for me to specify"
I'm actually listening to MV right now. I used to have a job where a record company would send me demos and I gave my opinion as to whether I liked them or not. Unfortunately, "Morning View" never came across my desk (haha) However, this is what I would write to the wiener who wrote that review.
Dear Wiener-
Thank you for the colorful review of the "Morning View" album. The only complaint I have about this was the actual review itself. Have you ever written a review before in your life? I can understand you wanting to sound intelligent by using an expanded vocabulary, but it just makes you look like a pompous ass seeking words that will impress, but that just comes off as you trying too hard to impress us.
I'm glad that you have a promising career in bashing the things other people spend months working on. Why instead of honing in on the "mommas boy" lead singer, you concentrate more on the surrounding music. Nu-metal? Emo-tastic? Really? Those are the best descriptors you could muster? I think you should give this album another listen and find the layers within each song.
Maybe if you weren't dreaming of having Brandon Boyd's c**k in your mouth, you could have written a halfway decent review instead of this garbage laced with backhanded compliments.
Thank You
Mistress_Boyd on behalf of every Incubus fan

I just had to move this back up so new member could see it and be pissed at iTunes.

"If know I'll see you again, whether far or soon"
I just can't believe they called him a momma's boy.

You hit the nail on the head.
Very odd review. whats up with the feminine side that far out ways the masculine.
Doesn't like the bands name, but HAS to admit to a voice that can carry a tune.
They definately could've done this review without attacking his masculinity.
