In the early morning of February 20th my youngest brother of 26 years tragically passed away of a drug overdose of a c**ktail of Methadone and Xanax. He was a huge Incubus fan, I would like to play Dig at his memorial service. I would like to read the lyrics in advance.
Greg was an extremely intelligent and talented musician. He played guitar and percussion with the ability to make a career out of it he could have just found his way.His battle began like so many, a little marijuana to experience creativity and before we knew it he had plunged deeply into the grip of opiate derived prescription drugs and xanax. We tried as a family as any family would to intervene and help. However, we were also guilty of loving him so much by enabling him along the way.
If you are addicted please get help, people love you. If you are just starting to experiment and think you can control it don't, because you can't. No parent ever wants to bury their child. No parent wants to see their son put in jail. The only choices you have is death, jail, or rehab once you start down this path.
My brother was able to do one great thing when he passed, that is the gift of life and sight to some one else as an organ donor. My God bless you all!
Thank you

Oh my !
Did the band really wrote to you and your family? It's amazing!
So they actually read this forum or at least somebody among their friends because they wrote something to you. This is why I love them apart from the musicof course

to think that one's actions could please the masses is indeed a notion bound in irony;
someone will inevitably find something wrong in almost everything.
so do what it is that you do best and remember to have enough tolerance for two.
We layed my brother to rest today we were shocked to have an autographed sympathy statement from the band. Their were so many people that he had touched. The music was perfect
I love you Greg.
I see you got my mail. I hope it helped

Thank you for the thank you

DIG....
We All Have A Weakness
But Some Of Ours Are Easier To Identify. Look Me In The Eye
And Ask For Forgiveness;
We'll Make A Pact To Never Speak That Word Again
Yes You Are My Friend.
We All Have Something That Digs At Us,
At Least We Dig Each Other
So When Weakenss Turns My Ego Up
I Know You'll Count On The Me From Yesterday
If I Turn Into Another
Dig Me Up From Under What Is Covering
The Better Part Of Me
Sing This Song
Remind Me That We'll Always Have Each Other
When Everything Else Is Gone.
We All Have A Sickness
That Cleverly Attaches And Multiplies
No Matter How Hard We Try.
We All Have Something That Digs At Us,
At Least We Dig Each Other
So When Sickness Turns My Ego Up
I Know You'll Act As A Clever Medicine.
If I Turn Into Another
Dig Me Up From Under What Is Covering
The Better Part Of Me.
Sing This Song!
Remind Me That We'll Always Have Each Other
When Everything Else Is Gone.
Oh Each Other....
When Everything
Else Is Gone.
