Seriously. I'm praying that one day Incubus will stop playing Drive all together.

a concert without drive?
i certainly wouldn't mind!

anyway its sad that people were actually disappointed that ONE mainstream track wasn't in the setlist..for goodness sakes..they got a full length concert..what more can they want..?

That really makes me wish I could attend an Incubus concert where they don't play Drive.

Haha yea I know. Anyway, I was reading the review on the Stereophonics concert. Seems like as if people weren't happy with the concert cuz they didn't play mainstream songs like Have A Nice Day....Here's the review:

Welsh band Stereophonics dropped by Fort Canning in Singapore for their first concert ever here as part of their "Pull the Pin" tour, and the fans who went hoping to "have a nice day" might have left with a disappointed mug on their faces.

As overheard more than once after the concert ended, "why didn't they play 'Have A Nice Day'?" The 2001 single from their third album Just Enough Education to Perform is probably the band's most mainstream recognizable hit among the die-hard and casual fans alike. Thus, it was no surprise that many fans were addlepated by the band's decision to leave that song out of their playlist.

Indeed, if Stereophonics had opened the night with "Have A Nice Day", it might have set a more positive note for the rest of the night. Perhaps, the band had expected a crowd who wanted to rock hard under the stars, and so chose to get the ball rolling with edgier numbers like "A Thousand Trees" and "Superman". A pity the crowd remained relatively subdued, with a handful making a beeline for the beer booth.

As front man Kelly Jones belted out more hits such as "Mr. Writer," one could not help but feel that the band, while technically flawless in their delivery, were performing out of perfunctory courtesy. Perhaps the band had not expected local conditions to be this humid when they made the decision to wear a leather jacket throughout the entire concert. The heat could have fizzled the band's enthusiasm, along with the crowd as well.

Drummer Javier Weyler did wise up and take off his top midway through, and that was when things took off. Kelly finally took a moment to interact with the crowd, explaining how the song "It Means Nothing" wasn't a political number, although it was written around the time of the London Bombings. Asking everyone to cherish what they have and appreciate the people around them, Kelly and band then delivered one of the most poignant performances of the night.

The next one came when Kelly returned for the encore alone, and gave such a rousing solo acoustic rendition of "Maybe Tomorrow" that left the crowd cheering for more. The rest of the band came up and took a short break to celebrate a birthday on stage, before ending the night on a high note with the band's biggest hit, "Dakota."

So while "Have a Nice Day" failed to make it to the playlist, the encore that night still made things pretty magical under the stars.

Well that's almost like what I said only stated in a nicer way.

Don't you think Tom Smith's voice is really unique! Nope. Never heard of 'em. I'll Wiki them now...Hmm, has anyone checked out SOAD's side project, Scars On Broadway? Sounds interesting. OoO and I had no idea Ben's shoes got stolen in a hospital in China.

rainbowswirl: Can I catch ya on the LPMB too?

Hey i'm a Band of Horses fan too! It's great that everyone around here's digging the same stuff. I like 'The Funeral' and 'Detlef Schrempf'. I think I love 'Spoonman' more, the drums and all of it. Anyone an Editors fan?

In the US we call it Elementary school, and you're not too far behind me, I was 13 when I heard Black Hole Sun. I always thought the video was a little bizarre though. Now I just wonder what kind of drugs he was on.

I will definitely check out those songs, thanks for the recommendations.

"For every one thing we're ignorant of

these r my favourite songs by Band of Horses:
-is there a ghost
-no one's gonna love you
-island on the coast
-the first song
-the great salt lake
-weed party
The rest are pretty good as well.

sorry bout the local term rainbowswirl. i duno how they categorise it in the states but i believe tats 6th grade n below. basically from 7 years old till 12 years old. i was 11 when i heard black hole sun. haha.

im up for soundgarden n incubus man. wooohhhoooo. as if it was really gona happen. haha. im still gona wish for it though.
--
-not too bitter, not too sweet,.... just enough to start my beat.. -

I know one Band of Horses song- No One's Gonna Love You. I haven't had a chance to look up anymore but would welcome your suggestions.

I know this sounds stupid but what do you mean by Primary School? In America we don't use that phrase, and I'm not sure what it equates to here.

And I am so psyched to see NIN and STP and I also love Chris Cornell's vocals however I wasn't a big fan of Audioslave's last album. It just didn't measure up to Audioslave or Out of Exile, but that is just my opinion. I also agree that a Soundgarden reunion would be amazing, and hey Incubus might hop on that tour. A girl can wish, right?

--
"For every one thing we're ignorant of
a thousand more things beat the maze"

owh diamondback, get it!!! i love it at least. n i think u should get it. n yeah, audioslave reunion is more practical than soundgarden definitely. don think soundgarden would ever get bck but i jus love tat idea. black hole sun = 1 of my all time favourite song hands down. i was in primary scholl when i heard tat n never stoped loving it. n i cant agree with u more. chris cornell vocals r fantastic. n tom morello jus makes u speachless. a extreamly creative guitar player. makes the guitar sound like a whole new instrument.

by the way, does anybody listen to Band Of Horses? very cool.

--
-not too bitter, not too sweet,.... just enough to start my beat.. -

bartccw, I feel like going to get Keep Telling Myself It's Alright although I've only really got into 'The Stone'. Yes yes of course Soundgarden but I think it's more realistic to think about an Audioslave reunion. They certainly shouldn't stop at three records, I mean come on, make some more man! Not many people are digging Chris Cornell as a solo act though I personally think that his voice is still as solid as ever. If Audioslave came down, I wouldn't even hesitate to get tickets. And that Tom Morello...

rainbowswirl, STP + NIN sounds like it's gonna be a face-melting experience. Anyway, I realise I like to get uptight about Projekt Revolution when it doesn't even concern me. Haha. Stupid.

HATS OFF AND APPLAUSE TO ROGUES AND EVOLUTION!

I know, I would love to see Chris Cornell and PR 08 is on my list of must-see concerts this summer. Although my first concert priority is the Virgin Music Fest. It won't be the same without BB and the guys, but I'll settle for the Foo's, NIN and STP.

--
"For every one thing we're ignorant of
a thousand more things beat the maze"

yeah, they r great. but jus cant believe they talked s*** bout radiohead though. haha. by the way,has any1 been to or will be going for the 'we will rock you' show? im going this saturday. any comments from u guys?

-not too bitter, not too sweet,.... just enough to start my beat.. -

Stereophonics is really amazing. I fell in love with them after listening to Dakota..I think alot of people did. Anyway, I think Don't Let Me Down and Daisy are just beautiful songs but I don't think I can make it either though.

ashes divide is the s*** n i miss soundgarden. haha. would be amazing if PR came to any part of asia but i think it wont be long before it did. hopefully atleast. Smiling i really wana go for stereophinics man but ive got WORK TAT NITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

--
-not too bitter, not too sweet,.... just enough to start my beat.. -

I'm not that sick of it. I still listen to 'Anna Molly' a lot. But of course, I'd love to hear a new album from them. Oh yeah, rainbowswirl, the PR '08 lineup is sweet (with the exception of a few bands)! Chris Cornell is obviously the man and Ashes Divide sounds really good. I'm not interested in the emo bands again though. And what happened to the hip-hop man?

Btw, anyone going to see Stereophonics here?

--
HATS OFF AND APPLAUSE TO ROGUES AND EVOLUTION!

I am definitely getting sick of LG, like I've gotten sick of all of the others. Btw, I love the new Foo Fighters, it was an amazing album to see live.

--
"For every one thing we're ignorant of
a thousand more things beat the maze"

haha sorry, dumb assumption. Laughing out loud the new foo fighters is ok for me but kinda prefer the previous 1. but its still good.

--
-not too bitter, not too sweet,.... just enough to start my beat.. -

Hahahahhaha! Of course I don't listen to them every waking moment la. I mean like when I shuffle the songs, I tend to skip the LG ones cuz I'm kinda bored of them already. Anyway, have you guys heard the latest Foo Fighters album? Cuz tt's really good.

haha,im sure theyll come up with a new 1 soon. im nt getting bored of it though. but i have a specific period of time when i jus don listen to them at all. mix things up so u never get bored. then after awhile u realise u really miss listening to them. try getting some other band in ur system for abit jazvin it mite help. Smiling

--
-not too bitter, not too sweet,.... just enough to start my beat.. -

Yes it diddd..Anyway, I can't wait for Incubus to stop touring so they can come up with a new album cuz I'm getting bored of Light Grenades and I find it surprising because this is the first time I've EVER gotten sick of an Incubus album! Anyone else feel the same?

haha. it went all quiet all of a sudden.

--

Yeah maybe what you guys said is true, well anyhow, I still love Incubus and Brandon as much as I did before. =) Hey take a look at this dude's review of the show, pretty interesting and he is one lucky (insert prefered profanity here)!! Btw, anyone knows where he got "that" watch from? It really is cool.
