I recently saw the guys again for like the 15th time in West Palm Beach Florida (Their August 29th 2007 Date) Once again the guys simply blew me away and I loved every single song they played throughout. I am grateful for the music they have shared and the memories I have connected to their music throughout my life. A few months ago when I saw them in Orlando I had the opportunity to attend the aftershow and met Chris and Mike. They were very cool and I took pictures with both that I still carry in my phone and post on myspace to this very day. Well the other day I had the opportunity to spend time with Chris and Mike again at the aftershow and once again they were very receptive to their fans and that is what I find simply amazing. I spend a great amount of my time listening to their music and when I say their music I refer to all of their albums. My ringtones are all incubus and the ringback tones are the same. I consider myself a total Incubus head. Last Wednesday night for the first time ever I had the opportunity to meet Brandon Boyd at the aftershow and the only thing I could do was thank him for sharing so much of himself through his music. I then walked away. My little brother then walked up to him and asked to take a picture with him. They took the picture and then Brandon said enough of the pictures and left. I was destroyed! My little brother had just been left because of a picture by a person that I held in such high regard through music. I have spent the past 5 days thinking of this incident non-stop. I just did not get it. I still do not get it. What did he do wrong? Can someone please help me understand this. Anyone.

Thanks,
Rick

I really don't think you can take this personally. We love Incubus because of the intensity of their music and lyrics. I can't imagine having all of that rolling around in my head on top of my already existing sense of everything else. He's allowed an off night. We all don't treat everyone perfectly one hundred percent of the time...whether we choose to admit it or not. That is no excuse, but we do have moments where we shoo someone away quickly, because of other stuff going on in our brains. Had Brandon verbally assaulted your little brother, okay that would be preposterous, but he had simply had his fill, and unfortunately bad timing for your little brother. The fact that people take these things so seriously just adds to the stress. I don't know if I could deal with it full time. You also have to admit that Incubus isn't just "doing it for the money." I think they would do it for free if that is the way the world worked. I would assume that would lend them to having more nights where they are just plain tired and not motivated by the almighty fan based cash cow. That is not to say they shouldn't appreciate their fans, but I think you are feeling far too slighted by nothing more than a bad stroke of timing.
Well I am sure they were all tired however Chris and Mike take the time to make their fans feel at home. I had been to many aftershows however Brandon had never attended. He finally attended one and man it just flat out hurt.
It probably wasnt personal. I couldnt imagine living a life with a blinding flash evry 5 seconds. They were probably tired and needed alittle down time. Dont make a mountain from a molehill..Im sure everything is cool

You smell lets go shower!
I was at that show too. The show was great.
But I felt that they were tired they just came on stage and did there list
and were done. So I'm sure that your little bro did nothing wrong you must have
caught him on a bad day or something. It sucks that it was your little bro that took the brunt of it.What a way to ruin your experience.
Your little bro didnt do anything wrong...Imagine this....if you were the singer and you have to be cordial to everyone (which depending on personal feelings) sometimes people are overwhelming and maybe he wasnt having that great of a night or what have you. Eventhough hes a singer he is still a regular guy...can you imagine being asked a kazillion times to pose for photos...EVENTHOUGH its your job to do that for the fans and be receptive...after all these fans are the ones that buy your products....
I'll give you an example. I was marilyn mansons boss in college (with that being said I will now call him by his birth name Brian warner)
When brians fans complain to me about him being rude or not having time or not taking photos...I say to them..."Look the kid may have had a fight with his x or hes dead tired or just doesnt want to deal with FANatics....
singers are humans they arent gods...they eat piss sleep and s*** just like we all do(sorry to be so vulgar) but keep in mind they are people none the less...
sometimes they are happy and sometimes they arent...imagine you having to be "happy" alllll the time infront of everyone when deep down you are sad or miserable or pissed off or worried or whatever....
I am sure that Brandon not wanting to take any more photos had NO reflection on your little brother...
He probably just had enough of the flashes going off in his face...
I get email daily asking what brian warner was really like...and my OBLIGATION is to answer his fans truthfully and I do....even if i am asked the same dam question for the past 4 years...sometimes i wanna tell these fans to go away but I cant...thats not the right thing to do...so I reply with a smile...
You cant always expect singers or band people to be "ON" alllll the time...sometimes they just wanna be a nobody and fit in and not be bothered...eventhough its their job to be nice to fans....
cut brandon a little slack....
I am sure he didnt mean anything by it.....
just my opinion through what ive experienced in this industry (I am an entertainment journalist by the way)
