Jose Pasillas at Guitar Center's Drum-Off!

This weekend drummer Jose Pasillas performed at the grand finals of Guitar Center’s Drum-Off, an annual search for the most talented undiscovered drummers in the galaxy. Tommy Lee created a huge perfomance including celeb drummers such as Jose, Max Weinberg (Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band), Matt Sorum (Velvet Revolver), Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin reunion), and a ton of other talented folks! Watch Jose kill it on "Oye Como Va" by Carlos Santana, "I Shot the Sheriff" by Bob Marley, "Roxanne" by The Police…

...And then, as if this wasn’t enough, Mike Eizenger joins him on guitar for "Pardon Me"!

Also, check out the following exclusive photographs of the event...

What a s***load of grand talent was gathered together at this grand event. All the older drummers like Max Weinberg who played with his son, Frank Zuma, and more. ( i went home with a drumstick thrown by Frank!) Tommy Lee's Beserk, was just that! A rare and great opportunity to see Matt Sorum, Tommy Lee, Jose Pasillas ( and Mikey showed up to play a couple of tunes with him ), plus Chad Smith, the drummer of Tool and Godsmack, and even the drumline of USC's marching band took the stage. There were also dancers and a midget to help entertain the sold out show. All 5 finalists were good, the winner had acutally played in last years competition, but this time he won the judges vote. That also included a good group of drummers which included Foo Fighters drummer. Of course another great moment of the show was Jason Bonham's tribute to his father John. Despite some problems from the DJ, unfortunately during Jose's set, it was well worth attending. It was for all ages and there were people there from ages 7 to 70 i'm sure. I'm so glad i was able to be a happy spectator!!

how nice of you to comment so positively on my trying to paint a picture with words. and i so needed a pat on the back right now. thank you back!

i also must show my respect for Mr. Frank Zummo. i originally spelled his last name Zuma. I finally had a chance a couple of days ago to examine the drumstick he threw that i now have as a
great souvenir, and saw it indeed had his name printed on the stick, as well as his autograph. I decided to google his name to find out more about him, and there was a whole lot. Someone wrote in reply to me that he has even made an iphone. Anyway thanks Mr. Zummo!

and i love the pics they've posted from the Drum Off!

First of all this has made my night so much better seeing my favorite all time drummer Jose straight rip it. I checked out Guitar Center's site and they have only posted the winner's video so far. I mean s***, Jose is the main reason I started drumming again. What I would give to spend a day with that man!!!!!!!! But awesome post man! DIG ME UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or is anyone else wondering why people are using the media section to advertise random items? I know most of us are in desperate need to make a dollar but please show a little respect for the band we love, thanks and peaces from one fan to another Smiling shine in all you do it is then that you have reached some sort of satisfaction Please Incubus give us more music!!!!!
Jose really tore it up, big marley fan here love the tribute Smiling You really see the talent of a band when each member does a solo performance and blows our minds doing so.
