As any avid (or passive) Incubus listener knows, there are few greater joys in life than losing oneself in the magical audible excursion of Mike, Jose, Ben (or Dirk), and Kil's melodic (or ravaging-- in a good way) musical bedrock upon which Brandon's illustrious inflections carry one's soul into realms of indiscernible aural illusions.
But now let me put away my thesaurus and soapbox for a moment if I may. I MISS THE OLD INCUBUS! Don't get me wrong, Light Grenades has its moments, and it deeply reflects the issues and emotions paramount to the band during its conception. But it's soft... a little too soft for my (and hopefully Incubus') liking when reflecting upon the days of yore: Fungus, SCIENCE, Make Yourself, Morning View and even Crow.
Incubus, I know my opinion has no real influence on the songs you will create in the many days, months and years ahead. But I do truly hope that you may find a way to get back in touch with your original roots-- the roots that thrusted you to the forefront of rock in the beginning, so we may all bask again in the glory of what was. And hopefully what will be...
Why not try and (re)make yourself?
