I was first shown Deep Inside by some friends at high school, and from there I became a big fan of Incubus. I had heard the singles on the radio, but was slow to check out any of the albums. Deep Inside cememnted my desire to hear all the albums and went about purchasing Fungus, SCIENCE, Make Yourself and the only just released Morning View. From their my love for Incubus grew. their combination of Funk, Rock and experimental soundscapes would shape my love for music. I love everything about the band: all albums are unique and a different journey into music, each member is brilliant and a genious at their art. And speaking of art, the lyrics, artworks and books that surround the band are amazing. Jose and Brandon are incredible visual artists, and Brandon's lyrics are thought-provoking, poetic and engaging. I love Jose's stylish drumming, Kenney's gorgeous bass runs, Mike's crazy guitar soudns and Kilmore's ever-changing soundscape.
To put it simply, I enjoy Incubus!
CUBUS come to Sydney
For all those wondering about Soundwave set times, Soundwave last year boasted full-length sets by all bands. Not sure if this will be the same case this year, but I expect Soundwave headliners will be looking AT LEAST at 1 1/2 hour set list. I think Incubus would be pretty crazy to headline a festival and play anything shorter.
Anyway, I'm heading to Soundwave, have my Incubus shirt already picked out and am looking very forward to it. It will be my first 'bus show, having unfortunatly missed the last 2 tours.
